Class Information

The follow classes apply to the Middle and Long Distance races. The Sprint Distance has no A-Short or B grades.

ORIENTEERING ON FOOT: "involves finding your way through unfamiliar terrain using a map." Competitions are usually individual, but groups are welcome too. Checkpoints may have to be visited in a certain order, or a time limit is set. Courses can take anything from 10 minutes up, with an hour quite common.
Learn more... 		ORIENTEERING HUTT VALLEY began in 1976 and its 100-150 members run 30 events each year. Its forte is the development of new forms of the sport, from the sprint distance to rogaines and MTB-orienteeering. Follow in the footsteps of its world-level stars - Frank Smith, Linda Parker (now Mead), Antonia Wood, Laura and Tim Robertson.
