IOF Introduces Masters Category in World Cup Events

And other MTBO "International Affairs"

The IOF MTBO Committee has introduced Masters classes in the 11 events which make up the World Cup series for 2001. The classes will be M40-, W40-, M50- and W50-.

This move is expected to boost participation in these events and enable them to have greater financial viability. In the long term this is expected to mature into an IOF Masters competition a la foot-orienteering, which attracts thousands of participants when held in Europe, and even 1-2000 when held down under.
