As MTBO is relatively new, the NZOF selectors have delegated the selection of the team to the MTBO Committee. There, it will be coordinated by committee member Michael Wood,, using Trevor Knowles and Andy Clayton as a subcommittee. Prospective team members must fulfill certain requirements, including a definite statement of availability by Sat 3 Aug. Selection will be made shortly thereafter and released through processes that the federation uses for foot-orienteering.
The challenge event on 29 Sep is also open to riders not in national teams, and includes classes for juniors and older veterans. In addition, a week of MTBO training on areas in Victoria is being organised by the MTBO Committee. See earlier items on this topic.
