Third Winter Rogaine Announced

12-hour event one hour north of Christchurch

PAPO has announced details of its third "Heights of Winter" 12-hour rogaine. It will be run on Saturday 24 June from 9 to 9, which gives a "good" dollop of night navigation to finish off with!

The event will be run near Scargill, in the same general area as the first H.O.W. event two years ago. However this is a NEW venue, with less than 20% common to the earlier event, and a different start/finish. The terrain is steep to easy hills up to 650m, with open grassland and scrub. The map will be the usual 1:50,000/20m map with organiser's additions, and instruction is available to anyone who needs it on the day.

Entry fee is $30 per person with half price for juniors 14-17, and this includes hot soup (presumably for those calling into base during the event) and a post-event meal. The entry form is available on the PAPO website. Entries close 9 June.
