Canty T'Walk On; Q'Town Epic Off

The longest-running map/endurance event in the country is the Canterbury University Tramping Club's 24-hour Walk. "T'Walk" is a fixed-order navigation event for teams but the loops of the course come back to a central hash-house similar to a rogaine. It's been run annually since sometime in the 60's, which makes it over 30 years old!

The 2002 event is on 25-26 May, and the details are available from the CUTC Website.

Meanwhile, hopes that Queenstown's Bruce McLeod and Steve Foote would run another "Epic" have been dashed. The Epics run in 1999 and 2000 were similar to Twalk, but Foote has decided that the amount of work is too much for his small band of helpers.
