Two of the founders of rogaining, Neil and Rod Phillips, have published an updated edition of the definitive work, "Rogaining and Cross-Country Navigation"
The preface says, "The first edition was published in 1982 at a time when rogaining associations existed in two Australian states. Seventeen years leter, we are witnessing rogaines being run on three continents." Of more interest to kiwis, it is now being run here on a regular basis, including monthly after-work events around Wellington!
The book covers all aspects of rogaining, from competition to organising, although the latter is more thoroughly covered in a specialist publication, Costigan's "Organising a Rogaine". It contains an up-to-date summary of the state of rogaining around the world, including New Zealand.
The book is nicely laid out with colour photos and of course maps, in a hard
cover. It takes up 154 pages of A5 format. You can order it in New Zealand
from The MAPsport Shop, or
