Marlborough Rogaine Details Announced

1-2 Dec 2001

Details of the "rogaine of the year" have finally been announced by the organisers Susan King and Alan Holdaway. Not quite big enough for 24 hrs, nevertheless the 4pm to 10am event will have most of the characteristics of the classic rogaine particularly the period of darkness. This overnight format is known as an "upside-down rogaine" in Australia where it can be run in summer when daytime temperatures are too hot.

The event will be easily accessible from the main centres of rogaining in NZ - Canterbury from where it is within a 4hr drive, and Wellington, since the organisers have offered arrangements to pick up and deliver to the Picton ferry. The event should attract participants from further afield as well, particularly Auckland which held its first significant rogaine earlier this year.
