Robbie was offered a cup of tea when he collapsed on someone's front lawn in Redwood St on his way back to the finish. Third place went to Robin Litchfield on 990 points and home fourth was Russell Lundon with 980.
TOPS best finisher was Peter Syms (who on this occasion let his wife Margot go on her own) with 950 points for 5th place. The team of Hans Kunzi and Keith Agmen from TOPS also made an attempt to get the three 100 pointers but had to turn back before they got there. But it was too late to make the finish in time; they were nine minutes late (90 penalty points deducted) and were 7th with 950 points.
Marlborough Harriers were well represented with Russell Lundon doing the best. The team of Allister Christie (MOC & harriers) and Maurice Brown were next best with 950 points in 6th place
