Earlier this month, a meeting of the NZOF Rogaining Committee decided that a separate formal structure (with its workload) was not needed in New Zealand. Instead, a loose identity to be known as "RogaineNZ" would be run by the federation's rogaine committee as now, with the addition of an emailing list. The list would consist of anybody who wanted to be on the list.
The list has been set up using the Internet company Yahoo. Anyone can join the list by sending an email to
rogainenz-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
You will get a reply asking you to confirm (part of Yahoo's anti-junkmail mechanisms) and then you're on.
The list will be used for brief bulletins alerting list-members to something about rogaining in New Zealand. The bulletins will not contain substantial information, just the email address or website where it can be obtained. Until we satisfy ourselves about exposure to junk-mail, only the list owner (currently Michael Wood) will be able to post bulletins to the list.
Try it out. If you get any unwelcome email, you can get off by sending an email to
rogainenz-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
