Hi everyone. We're all confirmed and have permission from our great sponsors ARC to hold the Cascades Rogaine on Saturday 9th August 2003, and boy is this one going to be a beauty!
We are very grateful for the support we receive from our sponsors, Multisport bikes, Leppin Sport, Endurance Sport Mag, Wild Turkey Bourbon, and the Auckland Regional Council.
The Cascades Rogaine will be on the established tracks in the Waitakere Ranges, Auckland - based from the Cascades car park (North Waitakere). This event will be great with tunnels, tram lines, waterfalls and huge kauri just some of the sights you'll see along the way. There is quite a dense networks of tracks so there will be lots of controls to pick up along the way.
We've settled on the 3 hour and 6 hour options - given that we're still in the middle of winter - in the summer with daylight savings we'd like to try a 4 and 8 hour event. [C'mon guys, try it in the dark - webmaster] Start times will be the same with 10am start for the 6 hour and 1pm for the 3 hour. Maps available at registration 1 hour before the start.
Our last event had 70 teams which came to around 190 people. Entry fee includes a meal after the race and the chance to win some spot prizes. Refer to our website for more details and an entry form. There are also results and photos from our past rogaines so you can get an idea of what to expect.
