The NZ Orienteering Federation has apointed a Working Group to develop Mountain Bike Orienteering (MTBO) in the country.
Its members are Hanmer Outdoor Experience man Andy Clayton, Wellington MTB race organiser Brent Hoy, and Cyclic Saga vets winner Michael Wood
The group will be working at grass-roots level to help and encourage orienteers and mountain-bikers to put on navigation events on two wheels. It will also work from the top to put on New Zealand's first national championship in MTBO. This is scheduled for September 2000, in Hanmer Forest in Canterbury.
The working group would welcome enquiries from anyone who wants
help or advice to organise MTBO.
