On Sunday May 22nd the event will be on an area new to MTBO called "Wounded Wheels", although those who did the P6 adventure race last year have been on it. Its right at the northern tip of Woodhill Forest, follow SH16 to the roundabout between Helensville and Parakai, turn left and follow signs for 30 mins. The MTBO has start times 1-2pm, and follows a 1 hour foot-orienteering score event (minirogaine) event which mass starts at 11 am, why not do them both!
On Sunday, June 12th the event is on "Beautiful Wheels" as used for the 2003 NZ MTBO Champs. The entrance is through the Woodhill Forest HQ just north of Waimauku on SH16; follow signs for 15 min. Same times: one-hour foot-o score event at 11am, MTBO starts between 1 and 2pm.

And Rob is suggesting informal MTBO practice at Taupo on 23 April, the day before the Rotorua event. There's a MTBO map of the Craters of the Moon area which has a good network of tracks, and would make a good warmup. Contact Rob above so that maps and a rendezvous time can be arranged.
Finally put 14/15 May into your diaries for the first Hawkes Bay MTB-Orienteering. NZ team member Darryl Taylor is behind this, and he's had fellow-team member Neil Kerrison make not one but two maps for MTBO. They'll be at Te Mata Park at Havelock North and Eskdale Forest just north of Napier.
