Another great Rogaine

Another great Rogaine on Wednesday night behind Eastbourne - 19 teams and 40 people. A great effort by course planner Rob Harrow and his band of helpers.

Some of the controls certainly proved challenge in the dark - But all controls were visted except for # 53.

The winning course by experienced orienteers Bill Edwards and James Bradshaw took in the northern controls, getting through Gollans stream in the light and the closer in controls in the darkness. Score was 780

The dark horses on the night were the second team - Ian Bowie and Fanny. Brand new to Riogaining this year having been through the navigation training courses. They visited the southern controls and scored 680.

Planners comments:
Most people confused control # 81 with # 23, only # 53 was not visited - its definitely there , but maybe the clue was misleading. The same team got 80 and 81, so I assume they were the only ones to go down the whole ridge? - Jo and Bill! For # 63 - I think people counted bridges rather than strems!
