The planners will leave the ribbons out for a couple of weeks so the course is available for others to do in their own time. Order maps and question sheets from and transfer to the OHV account: $5 for map, $1 for postage in standard envelope, $2 in a big envelope (its A3). The account is 010514 0135615-00. Winning Routes:
Casper Harmer and Greg Thurlow, 1st 6hr (Dave King 2nd 6hr was roughly similar): From the woolshed up to the bunkers via 22, 45, 30 and the controls close to the road 33, 48, 50A, via 72, 80 and 64 down the big valley to 59; NW up the ridge via 78, 58 to Boulder Hill 47; in and out to 83 then the most easterly control 101; out and back to the far controls above Dry Creek 57, 21, 74, 91, back over Boulder Hill and down to Belmont Road via 55, 38, down towards Pauatahanui 46, 100, 56, 41 and 73 just above Duck Creek; up to Canons Head 28 via 52 and 54 and home.
Liam Drew and Rachel Ockelford, 1st 3hr: Approximate from memory only, from the woolshed down the valley and up the 4WD to Belmont Trig, north into the valley of Duck Creek, back up to Round Knob and home; a brief attempt to get #25, finished with 2min to spare.
Andy Jones and Michael Wood, 4th 3hr: Up to the bunkers via 22, 45, 30; controls among the bunkers 33, 48, 50A; contoured down the side of the big valley through 72, 39, 44; back onto Hill Rd at 24, jogged for the first time to 82; up Sweetacres Track through 43, a bit of bother finding the top of the track above 25 and Andy developed cramp at this stage; but with 12min in hand made the bottom with 3min to spare.
