sausages afterwards, and now pizza, this label is now seriously inappropriate:-))

A great turnout and some excellent technique at the World Record Pizza
Eating Attempt atop Mt Victoria last night. Excellent all-round culinary
skills were observed from all diners on the night, coping with the
sophisticated dishes on the menu, some not at all familiar to the
palates of the 24 hour all-you-can-eat brigade. (Although a handful of
diners only counted 4 spiral hooks at dish #36, but have been excused
due to the overcrowding at that table). Some dishes were indeed hard to
find, particularly the Orange Fettucine hidden amongst the Spinach
Pizza but diners coped extremely well with the conditions ie the
romantically lit but slightly underheated mess area.
Even with a sole-diner penalty, Irish International Bill Edwards
managed to scoff his way through all but three dishes. Taking into
account that Bill lost 5 minutes at dish#46, a ravioli-pizza in a
shallow bowl, and that the remaining two dishes were very close to the
mess hall, it is considered by local pundits to be extremely likely
that he could have indeed devoured all 27 dishes on the menu and
claimed the World Record. Behind Bill were local chefs Bryn Davies and
Andrew McCarthy; 5 minutes behind them but with an equal dish tally
were gourmands Matt & James Flannery.
Prior to the Pizza Eating Record Attempt some diners were observed
warming up for extended periods of up to 90 minutes in the forest.
Which doesn't seemed to have affected their appetite at all.
Well done all and thanks to Michael Wood for drawing the menu up and
assisting to set the table, and waiter Mike Sheridan and others.
